The subtle perfumey nose offers hints of red currant,
pomegranate and cherry mingled with a whiff of violet. As the wine opens, savor
the luscious fruit essence — Moyer plum, Montmorency cherry and wild blackberry
— laced with vanillin oak and a rich minerality. The robust structure tames as
the wine breathes, losing the tannic grip while still providing a caressing
hold to balance the lush fruit.
Savor this wine with a grilled lamb shoulder served with
fresh mint jelly, or try it with pasta carbonara made with applewood smoked
bacon.
