This sophisticated yet rugged wine reflects the Rockpile terrain starting with its seductive aromas of cassis, cherry, cigar box and espresso mingled with traces of dried underbrush and leather. The smooth, focused entry showcases black cherry cola enveloped in cedary oak spice and Valrhona dark chocolate with layers of dried white sage, violet and a savory minerality. As the wine nears the finish, hints of loamy earth and eucalyptus join the complex, mouthwatering flavors and supple tannins as they coalesce and linger.

Savor this Cabernet with a thick slice of prime rib with creamy horseradish and a twice-baked potato, or an herb-crusted rack of lamb served with a wild rice and mushroom pilaf.

Composition: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon & 5% Cabernet Franc

Production: 149 cases

Winemaking: The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast. The resulting wine was aged for 30 months in French oak barrels and bottled unfined.

Recommended Cellaring: 1-10 years
