Summary
Deep tones of ripe wild blackberry and plum puree meld with
hints of dusty tannins and oak, filling the nose with the wine’s sophisticated
temptations. A touch of spicy cedar greets at the first sip, while plush layers
of Black cherry compote, fresh mulberry, pomegranate and violet-laced
blackberry quickly follow. Traces of cigar box, semisweet chocolate and toasted
oak add depth and enhance the wine’s complexity and elegance as it lingers. The
ideally balanced structure reveals softening yet firm tannins and just the
right contribution of fine-grained oak. A wine that can age for years or be
enjoyed now, especially if decanted for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Enjoy pairing this lovely beauty with seared duck breast
with a red wine, shallot and currant reduction, or a blue cheese crusted filet
mignon served with Hasselback potatoes.
